What do you do at Camarda Wealth?
I assist in the investment selections and monitoring process in my contributions to the portfolio board. We spend a lot of time researching and deliberating investment opportunities, and some of my responsibilities include preparing research, tracking the changes of the portfolios and values, and persistent monitoring and updating of our internal investment tracking systems.
What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position?
I graduated from the University of North Florida in Spring 2018 with a degree in Business Finance. In my final year, I was a member of the school’s student managed investment fund, where myself and 11 other seniors/graduate students independently managed a portion of the university’s endowment to its specific mandate. I also was in the Financial Modeling class, where students had a unique opportunity to participate in hands-on projects with local companies in the investment and finance industry. While doing this, I had an internship at Camarda that transformed into my current position following graduation.
What is something the investing public has to deal with that you want to fix?
Investors should, but unfortunately don’t always, understand financial markets and the benefits/risks associated with participating in them. As a result, they may choose to keep their assets in places that do not allow them to capture the benefits from the wide variety of assets available that can be tailored to their specific needs and objectives. By the work we do on the investment side of our operations, we can create strategies and monitor developments closely, which paired with in-depth financial planning and other considerations can make positive impacts in people’s lives now and many years ahead. This helps overcome the informational barriers that I have found persist through my discussions with friends, family, and through published empirical financial studies in behavioral finance.
What do you like about working at Camarda Wealth?
I like the company’s efforts to ensure there is input from everyone in many decisions, both the day-to-day type and the big picture. If you have something to say, you will have the chance to have your voice heard.

Fran prefers to YouTube instead of podcasts and watches videos on subjects ranging from product reviews, chemistry and physics experiments to outdoor survival.
What is your background?
I was born in Canada (my mom is from Canada and dad from Italy). This accounts for my cool name, eh? I did not live in Canada very long before my family moved to Florida. I lived in Central Florida before I moved to Jacksonville for college.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I spend most of my time studying for the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) program, which I choose to do on my own to supplement and further develop my skills relating to investments. On the weekends, I usually like to play Monopoly with my girlfriend and our friends. It is a really fun game if you play it properly.
